AI in Surveillance and Facial Recognition
Date | Time
Safety and security are precious in society, but when it starts to become invasive to privacy we need to understand the “why” and “who” especially when using AI systems. Video cameras are becoming more advanced with facial recognition detections that can impact certain groups of people if used inappropriately with certain biases in place. If AI surveillance becomes really automated without human interaction we could face serious consequences in society. We will explore ethical components to AI surveillance, the safety of facial recognition algorithms, and potential exploitation of human trust. Join us for this informative talk.
